Although as yet unconfirmed, it is expected that Jesse will contribute a song to a forthcoming Stiv Bators tribute album. The most likely track for Jesse to choose would be the Lords of the New Church song 'Russian Roulette' which has been a favourite in Jesse's live set over the past couple of years. More info will be posted here as I get it...
AUGUST 22nd 2005
Jesse appeared live on Jonesville WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm tonight where he chatted to Glen Jones for over an hour. He also played a demo of a new song called 'Black Haired Girl' from his forthcoming 3rd solo album...
"I can never resist my little anarchist, Gimme gimme a kiss with your Apoca-Lips at the end of the world..." Oh yes! 'Black Haired Girl' is already a Jesse classic! I'm not sure if it's just something to do with the title, but the song does make me think of Van Morrison's 'Brown Eyed Girl' every time I hear it.
AUGUST 14th 2005
Jesse returns to Jonesville WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm on Monday, August 22nd between 7pm - 8pm EST. Jesse will be performing live, in the WFMU studios, a selection of songs which are to include material from his forthcoming 3rd solo release.

JULY 30th 2005
It would appear that Jesse will be performing at the legenduary NYC club CBGB in the first of a series of 'Save CBGB benefit shows' this Monday, August 1st. Although this show is not listed on the CBGB website, the following news report appeared on MTV.com on 29th July stating that Jesse will be performing along with Blondie & Wayne Kramer:
"Blondie, the MC5's Wayne Kramer and former D Generation frontman Jesse Malin will perform at New York's legendary CBGB club on Monday at 8 pm, in the first of a series of concerts being organized by the Save CBGB campaign, according to a spokesperson for Malin. The concert will be preceded by a press conference, during which it's expected "Sopranos" star and E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt will discuss the details of a month-long campaign to help preserve the punk-rock landmark and spare it from closure. The cradle of punk faces eviction at the end of August, unless the club's owner, Hilly Kristal, can negotiate a new lease for the Bowery space that houses the venue."
If you live in or near NYC, then I wouldn't miss this show!

APRIL 28th 2005
Jesse is currently working on his third studio album as well as an all-covers album! Both albums should be recorded this summer but there is no official word as to when we can expect the albums to be released, or whether they will be released simultaneously. Maybe the covers album will be an early appetiser for the third studio album.
There will also be some select live appearances this summer, but the recording of the albums will be the priority... Hopefully this means that Jesse will be back in the UK, as he was last summer, for some UK festival appearances & a few low-key warm up shows!!!???

Jesse’s previous band Bellvue are to be among the artists included on two new CDs recorded live at the legendary NYC East Village venue, The Continental. The Bellvue tracks to be featured will be ‘Faded Flowers’ & ‘Money Runner’. The live recordings will be released over two volumes, 23 tracks on each CD, recorded by various artists all of whom frequented the club in the late 1990s.
The release of a live compilation CD recorded at the Continental was first suggested back in 1998, but nothing ever happened. Now, finally, it seems that it is going to be released in two installments, volume 1 on April 10 th & volume 2 on May 19 th (Joey Ramone’s birthday).
The full track listing can be seen below with volume 2 also including ‘Why Don't You Go’ by Richard Bacchus’ band Vasquez. There are also many other very notable names to look out for among the artists featured over these two CDs including Joey Ramone, The Remainz (featuring Dee Dee & Marky Ramone), The Independents & Furious George, to name but a few that you should be getting excited about... I know I am!

Jesse is selling his new DVD Star•Smile•Strong at his current UK shows priced £15. Play.com have the DVD advertised for £7.99 including postage but the release date is listed as 28th January, & of course you can't get it signed! One Little Indian are also selling it for just over £8 plus postage... So the choice is yours!
I bought a copy last night at Leicester but have not yet watched it from beginning to end. From what I've seen so far, then Jesse has done a great job! My only criticism is that there are no bonus features. I was really hoping that the promo videos would be on there! Maybe we've got another DVD to look forward to... The Jesse Malin Videos Collection! Jesse did state last night at Leicester that when he returned to the USA after this tour, he will be filming a promo video for 'Since You're In Love'. Maybe it's a little late as the single was released in the UK 2 months ago, but I'm sure we'll appreciate it none the less!
JANUARY 20th 2005

Jesse played a secret unannounced show at Niagara in NYC on January 10th. The show was a warm-up for the forthcoming tour. Richard Bacchus and (as I understand it) Jesse's manager, Diane Gentile provided the support slots for the night. If anyone else can substantiate this, or has any photos from the night, then please email me.

More details about Jesse's forthcoming live DVD Star•Smile•Strong are starting to emerge. I found the following information, which answers the recent questions regarding the compatibility of the DVD for the US fans, on Jesse Malin's message board:
"Having had problems with dual format discs etc with the last Bjork album we have decided that NTSC region 0 is the way forward... We have already used this format and it is very successful... All our DVDs for the foreseeable future will be released on this format as they play in all NTSC machines and virtually all PAL machines... So from a US point of view the DVD will always work."
